Hi Me and a group of mates are coming down to North Wales for a weekend biking. We are looking for some good tracks along with a place that we could rent for the weekend. We have done the 7 stances several times so we ain't no novices when it comes to mtb Does anyone have any suggestions (especially for accommodation)? Thanks Stu

Alright mate, I stayed here with a few mates for a biking weekend last year: www.heartofsnowdonia.co.uk/siabunk.htmit's £15pppn which is pretty cheap, near to a few pubs and best of all right in the middle of Snowdonia, so you've got Penmachno and the Marin trail down the road, all the natural stuff including Snowdon, Llyn Cowlyd, Gwydir, Carneddau etc etc.

I'm guessing most on here live too close to need accomodation, but i'm sure if you post up when you're down there might be a few people offering to "show you round"
Deffo try some of the natural stuff as well as the trail centres tho mate. Enjoy!

There is a place near Coed y Brenin which does that sort of thing but I can't rember the name.
There are signs for it off the road as you head to CyB from Traws.

Don't know if you've had your weekend break yet, but the trails at Llandegla get the thumbs up from me.

Thistle i think it might be Cae Gwyn Farm it's only a mile from CYB Centre It is Cae Gwyn, camped there bank holiday weekend The only problem with Cae Gwyn is you're a bit far from pubs and stuff, you have to bring your own. Though its a great campsite with secure bike storage and off road access to CyB too...

Agree, Cae Gwyn is a nice spot but a bit isolated. There's always the haunted bothy deep in the CyB woods if you're feeling really brave :-)

Very little in that way, mainly just a steep but short and bumpy hill, it's on the Halkyn Mountain common..... from my halkyn / clwyds ride in May this year.... other than that, little bits and bobs but nothing worth the downhill label.
