My Avid Elixirs are getting noisy beyond belief, am running G3 rotors and sintered pads, any one got any clues on how to shut them up?

I'd say get them muddy and try a few stops but given the recent weather you've probably done that.
Brakes can squeal when they get dirt/grease/oil in them. Mud will often grind away whatever was causing the problem, it's like sanding down your pads and rotors to clean them ;D
You might want to check everything is done up tight. Brake bits shouldn't come loose because the bolts are normally threadlocked but it can happen. Check the caliper and the rotor bolts are done up tight.

lashings of WD40??? Maybe not!!
Have you tried properly cleaning the disks and pads with spray brake cleaner?

Do what I did, sell 'em on and get some good brakes like Hope Tech X2's.
My Avids screamed SSssoooo LOUD they could be heard for miles and miles, tried everything, adjustment, rotors, cleaning, new pads, mud on rotors and pads etc etc etc. In the end I was sure I had a problem with my Focus Raven's brake fittings maybe being out, I took my Hopes off my Cove and tried them on the Focus and they were nice and quiet, so I sold the Avid and got Hopes instead, not a moment of trouble since.
