I do all my own work to my bikes. Dont need expensive tools to do the brake's
Side cutters Coke bottle Model iC fuel hose fits really well. (For bleading only) One syringe brake fluid Spanners. I got a kit with the hoses to fit the unions to the hoses when cut. But you can push them in very easy.
Bleading is very straight forward. Fill with fluid pull the lever and hold and undo the nipple. Close nipple and release lever. Repeat until no air bubbles. If you the release lever with blead nipple open. It will pull air in. When all air is out of system just check for leaks under pressure.

I bought some K24 oro's from Merlin last year. they were cheap cos they were OE (which they don't always mention), which meant they were stock that had the hoses pre cut to size, fully bled etc. & just fit them straight onto by bike no worries. although I heard some people found the front hose was a little short for 5 inch + forks.
also, I would go to the Edge ahead of the bicycle works for repairs etc.

I think Edge is winning it by a couple of lengths. I remember going into the bike factory about 4 years ago and standing there for nearly 30 minutes and not one of the four staff approached me. As soon as one walked over eventually, I walked out. I was, btw, the only customer in the shop.

yep, had that happen to me one at least 5 occasions, + it takes ages just to get served for simple purchases when you know exactly what you want.
asked if they had a bonty acx last week, (they stock bonty tyres) answer have you looked there? (points to tyre section) I had looked & told him, & he just said "well no, then"
didn't say "I can check for you, or we can get them by ...."
I also once needed some jockey wheels desperately & they had none (9 speed mtb!!!) said they'd order me some & to pick them up 5 days later!!
but, was offered a price match on another tyre on a different occasion, which is good!
but far more bad experiences than good.
I don't even feel better after that rant, just more agitatted!!!

Thumbs down for the bike factory then . That sounds like bad service. Wot I have found with the shop is that for such a big shop they aint really got much in there. Its nice to have a good choice when buying bike gear but i found that there wasnt really any in there. I reckon they could do a lot more with it. Although saying that they did chuck me a mega good deal on my bike and gave me a top end fsr epic to tide FOC for two weeks until min arrived which i thought was pretty generious.

Must admit the standard of service that I got was pretty good. There was a young lad there who took the time on the shop floor to show me exactly how to set up the rear shock and gave some pretty helpfull advice answering all my daft questions with it being my 1st full sus.
I also got my daughters bike there, will post a pic later, not only did I get 20% off on the day, the only pink one they had left on the day had a small scratch on the forks so I got a bit extra knocked off.
