Weight near the hub dous not matter that much, the farther out in a wheel weight is saved, grater dynamic reduction results. It makes sense to lighten rims and tyres rather than hubs and rotors. I have a book called The art of wheelbuilding which explains it all. Big brakes look bling You're talking about rotational weight, but the wheel still weights the same and adds that weight to the overall weight of the bike, also if you use bigger rotors you could run the risk of the rotating weight being weighted to the left hand side of the bike and the said rotating weight pulling you off a straight line. In theory you could end up with the weight of the oversized rotors making you ride around in a circle! ;D
