Just been checking my bike over from yesterday's ride on the Dragons back at Coed Y Brenin and the back tyre is in a right state. Have a look! What you reckon, get a few more rides out of that? ;D ;D Nah new back tyre for me I think! Ady, Sicruz, have a check of your tyres after yesterday!

Are they Nobby Nic's??? I've heard some horror stories regarding their fragile nature. I've done loads at CYB on my WTB's (themselves a fragile tyre- 2.5 and only 760gms.) and never seen any damage. Being tubeless something like that would spell the end of my tyres!

I'm guessing you really rate them then?
I've always fancied giving them a try, think they do a 2.4 version don't they?
WTB Weirwolf are still my number 1 favorite for trail centre riding, sooo much corner grip and fast rolling/light to boot.

Yeah I do rate them, I find them a cracking tyre, Ive just bought a 2.4 to replace the rear one, Im hoping it will hold out a bit better on the trails than the thinner one, Plus with winter here i could do with a bit more bite in the mud! ;D

Are you going to run the 2.4 up front?? Guess it'd ride a little weird with a larger tyre at the back.

Im running it on the back, Ive got the 2.2 on the front, will see how i get on with it. I used to run a bigger tyre on my hard tail up front, because the forks had a lot shorter travell the wider tyre could take most of the hit out of bumps, that was some advice i took from a bloke very much in the know.
I have been wondering how it will ride with the wider tyre, It was quick rolling on the 2.2's cant see it slowing down too much, they are quite a rounded tyre.

TBH it probably will end up on the front! as soon as my new wheel turns up!
Your quite welcome to give em a go. I buy the baisic tyres, I never bother with the protections, Ive never been in the position where ive had to. Plus with work and other commitments I dont get to ride as offten as id like so my tyres dont get that much of a hammering.
I think you will be looking at £30 to £35 for the tubeless tyres.

I've just been looking at the Maxxis Crossmarks (page 40 last months MBR). Only been available in 2.1, now being brought out in 2.25. Excellent review and top rated tyres. Not expensive either. Available in tubeless, if that's your thing! Fast rolling, but grippy on the corners. Think I'll invest in a set of those.
