Hadleigh in Essex has been selected for London's Olympic Mountain Biking.
LOGOC dismissed approaches from Margam Park and Afan Valley in South Wales, Dalby Forest in Yorkshire and Penhurst (PORC) in Kent because they are too far away from London.
Now i work 10miles away from Hadleigh and often travel through there and well it looks like they are going to have to build some mountains down here to make this challenging as its all flat.

Bejing held the Equestrian events in Hong Kong for the Olympics this year. Didn't hear anyone complain about that. I'd heard that they promised Essex an Olympic event, thats why they chose Hadleigh - although you'd of thought they'd of come up with a better option than Mountain Biking.

Effing organizers have not got a clue, they are going to waste a shed load of money building a course, when they could of chosen somewhere awp nawf with the right kind of terain they can easily carve a course. It make no sense whatsoever. Olympic comittee are a bunch of numpties.

Agree with you there Ady, what a joke, why does everything have to be centred around London, why not have it up North where there is the correct terrain for the event and bring a little tourism and money at the same time, no wonder Northern towns are on the decline it's all about the south
