I seem to have pulled my hamstring sitting on my arse over the weekend (well, could have been the Beast on Sat or the demolition on Sun). It's not really bad, but uncomfortable to walk with. I've got it iced up at the moment but it doesn't seem to be helping. Half the sports injury websites say to rest it, half say to keep using it. One even said to do both Anyone got any advice on how to get it back to normal ASAP? Racing season starts on Sunday....

For soft tissue injuries I was always told do R.I.C.E, avoid H.A.R.M. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation over the first 24/48 hours with minimal movement, basically just enough to stop you stiffening/seizing up.
Heat, Alcohol, Running, Massage are the things to avoid... Although I used to find a deep tissue massage a few days after when it was only mildly sore used to help keep he muscle in good shape and avoid the stiffness of not being used.
Defo don't work on it too soon, that's for sure!
