Thanks to mtbman and whitedog for a good ride around the red and black yesterday evening. Its only the second time Ive done the trail so tear assing around trying to keep up with the 2 nutters that know the trail like the back of their hand was a right laugh. I had a couple of close calls but nowt for the warwounds section ;D At the end of the ride there was a lovely chili and nacho meal for only £4, just the ticket after a good ride. Danevs, Shame you couldn't make it mate was a good night. Cheers again lads and hope you manage to get your hub sorted mtbman.

Great ride yesterday fella's Them jalepeno peppers were getting their revenge today. The song "Burning Ring of Fire" pretty much sums it up Whitedog: Have you come down from your adrenalin trip yet! Great effort yesterday a true milestone. I'll have to raise the bar again now ;D ;D On the downside, as we suspected that awful grinding and chewing noise was indeed my rear hub bearing. I stripped it down tonight and the bearings were more like hexagons than balls. Back to the LBS tomorrow for some spare parts. Should be no prob's for the forum ride though

Bike is fixed, for now ;D I ended up buying the entire hub for £21. The hub comes with the axle/cones/bearings and free hub. When I changed my free hub in the spring it cost me £20 (fitted) by itself. Fingers crossed this is the last mechanical for a while. I'm tempted to follow Martinw down the new wheel route. Hope hubs with cartridge bearings (easy servicing). I just need to figure out how I'm going to manage to find money for the night riding light upgrade and the wheels
