Following on from the huge success of the first Penmachno Trail Maintenance Day a second one has been scheduled for Saturday 21st May… and we’re looking for volunteers to help out.
If you can spare a few hours and are up for a bit of trail maintenance (filling potholes, de-burming, replacing boardwalk, polite heckling of passing bikers etc.), then please put your name forward either via this thread or Facebook www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=193073527394886
The plan is to meet at Conwy Falls cafe at 10am & then, dependent on numbers, decide on the project for the day. All you need to bring is some enthusiasm, light refreshments (butties & a drink..) and clothes to withstand the Welsh weather! The day will finish back at the Café at around 4.30pm where a free 'thank you' meal will be waiting for all the volunteers.
The trails will still be open but there may be diversions in place dependent on the location & type of work (should only be a couple of sections).
If can help out please let us know – just so we can get enough tools… and food!!!
If you want to check out the results of our first Trail Maintenance Day then sneak a peek at: www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=193073527394886#!/notes/penmachno-mountain-bike-trails/trail-maintenance-day-planks-tools-on-the-trail/210826478929316 or check out the photos at: www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/album.php?fbid=210828072262490&id=206631562682141&aid=57491
The Penmachno Mountain Bike Trails are community managed which means all maintenance, repairs & development are reliant upon volunteers & donations from the Honesty Box. So, if you ride the trails please help to maintain them by either donating a few pounds to the Honesty Box or a few hours to a Maintenance Day. Thank you!
