Bought some Hope 4 LED lights a few weeks back

Yes bought myself a set of these from Merlins when they were doing the 10% off promotion.

This isn't me, just a video I found off Youtube.

Initial impression after a few local rides is that they are very bright, but so they should for what they cost. I'm not sure I'd need a helmet light for a trail centre as the beam is quite wide - the only places I can think of are on tight switchbacks maybe.

I'll take a few night photos when I go out on it next week.

Nice! I,ve been looking at some Hope Vision 2 Led's that mount on the stem. it means I will have to change my stem but I like the idea of the light being on top of the stem in the centre and battery underneath. Do you have a helmet mounted light.

I've avoided purchasing a helmet light in the hope (no pun there!) that these will be good enough. They are deffo good eough for my local trail rides.

The battery on mine straps onto underneath the stem - 2 second jobbie.

Those lights youve shown are nice as well - haven't seen them before.

CRC have them on offer they are 5W 300 lumen lights..but Hope have updated them now and there 460 lumen now, this is a good vid of diffferent light strengths.

Did the Hope 4's come with a helmet mount?

They look quality & the 960Lumen output is very impressive

My local trails are around Blaenau Ffestiniog, when it isn't raining that is. The one I do most is an unused quarry route, nothing technical just the equivalent of forestry roads.

There is a helmet mount included with the lights and an extension cable so you could put the battery in your backpack. I wouldn't want the battery strapped to my helmet for two hours or so or I'd end up with a neck like Mike Tyson!

The Hope I,m looking at have had great reviews, but so have yours, its difficult to tell how big yours are from pictures, is the battery size similar to say a mobile phone. I'm wondering if I should save up and get brighter ones like yours as 960 lumens is massive do they have a wide penertration of light.

Yes similar to a mobile phone, just a little bit deeper. Fits perfectly underneath the stem. It also isn't that heavy - I just wouldn't want it on top of my helmet for a long ride.

I was also in two minds to go for these as they were so expensive but I was also thinking I didn't want to buy something this year only to upgrade it quite soon.

Very Nice lights dyls, I can feel a forum night ride occurring ;D

Also worth checking out the joysticks, i was looking at them in one planet the other day and they are unbelievably small for the power outputs. Very tempted to get one as a helmet light but they are very pricey

Aint made the purchase yet, seen some vision 2's for £150 so I think I will get them as long as there the latest ones which give out 460 lumens. Afew websirtes have done this so I checked with them and they said they need to update there details and they are the latest, but it makes me suspicious.
