I need to ride to work for a few days next weekend (on a mtb,) so need something more suited to riding on the road. Will only be for a few days and I'm too tight to splash out on new tyres! Does anyone have any spare tyres that I could have for cheap? Need to be around 1.9" wide and as fast rolling as possible - I don't mind if they are just extremely worn as long as they are quick! Cheers

Have some slicks good quality hardly used 1.4 "Ritchey Tom Slick" and a "Tioga City Slicker" About a £10'er for the two. Depending how much of a tight a*se you are ;D Problem is I'm over near Llangollen and I'm off on holiday (again!!) soon so if you want them can you arrange anything. PM me if interested

Cheers for the offer, but I think they'll be too narrow for my wide rims. Going to have to cope I think!

Actually, when do you need them for? I might have a set you can borrow (and I work in Colwyn Bay)

I was only planning on riding to work for 3 days, from Rhos to Llandudno, whilst the extravaganza is on as I can't be dealing with finding somewhere to park! Quite enjoyed it this morning to be honest, but not sure how I'll enjoy the ride back up Penrhyn Bay hill after a 15 hour shift.... Cheers for the offer Thistle, but think I'm going to give riding to work a go for a while to see how I get on. Oldgit - I'll give those tyres a try if you can post them, or pass them on to someone down my way? Was a bit wary as my rims are 30mm external/23mm internal which I thought would be a bit wide.

Plenty of parking in Builders Street today, shouldn't be too much of a problem tomorrow either.

If you're on nobblies you could always go through penrhyn beach estate, up onto the orme then along the track which comes out at the top of penrhyn hill. There's a short set of steps to carry up and a couple of gates to get over. You could probably manage most of that on slicks in this weather
