Hi, Just found this site and thought I’d introduce myself. My name is Jane McRae, and I’ve just moved down here from Scotland with my job. I’ve been biking for a number of years now and even used to race at one time (although never to a high standard). I prefer xc riding, but have only managed to do Llandegla since I got here two weeks ago.
Anyway, as I’m down here on my own and don’t know anyone or any of the trails I thought I’d join your club and hopefully get out with some of you to learn some new routes and get to know the area.
I work most of the week and am free to ride on the weekends, however, I do get the odd day off here and there so may be able to get out then.
Anyway, starting to waffle now (must be the wine), hope to meet some of you soon.
J

Welcome Jane, you've moved to a cracking place with your work, masses of great natural terrain to ride and some good man made stuff too.

As Sally said there's a forum ride a week on Saturday which I think is taking in most of the same area as when we were up there last October but if you're wondering what the terrain is like then there's about 3 million pictures here ..... northwalesmtb.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=ridedays&thread=5540&page=1 ...to look at but if you do decide to put an appearance in make sure you fetch your wellies. It really was a cracking ride though and one of my faves to date in fact I think I only fell off about 5 times that day. ps Hello

Thank you all for your warm welcome Unfortunately, I cannot make the forum ride as the girls from work are taking me for a wee dram in Chester on that day for a welcoming get together. Will try and get out soon with you all, as it sounds like there's a lot of riding to be done around these parts. J

Hey Janey, a very warm welcome from a fellow 'Jock' Don't be shy on coming out for a ride sometime, we're all a friendly lot. In fact I mainly ride midweek so if you fancy a dabble around your local area just shout, whatever your level of fitness But looking at your racing photo it appears that your well fit.............I could end up getting spanked!

Hi Jane, and welcome from yet another Jock As everyone has said there's plenty rides going on, loads of stuff to do almost from your door, as well, so there's worse places you could have ended up coming to... The Clwydian range is on your doorstep and there's usually midweek rides up there, one tonight I think, so no shortage of places to get to in the evenings. Hope to see you out soon!

Hi Jane and welcome! I'm out at least once a week after work - either the clwyds or Llandegla (I live in llay) Struggling with fitness and confidence at the moment so not quick, but I'd be happy to show you around some of the excellent local XC! Lou.

@ Tinytim - Sorry but as I live on my own I don't have any incentive to bake cakes or flapjacks. All I seem to do at the moment is work, gin gym / bike and sleep. My ex said that baking wasn't one of my best attributes anyway @ Iggy - It's a very long time since I gave anyone a spanking Managed to get up to llandegla last night for a blast around the Red, never had chance to check if anyone was going as I went straight from work and I nae have internet access in work Will try and get out with you all soon J

I’ve been biking for a number of years now and even used to race at one time (although never to a high standard). Excellent, team MBNW is always looking for more people to take part in races ;D You know you have the CRC (formerly Merida) MTB Marathon just on your doorstep in September? Welcome to the forum. There's plenty of less competitive riding going on as well.
