I've just got a new shock bush and mount (both the old ones were worn). Got it from BETD this time rather than TFTuned.
Is the mount (the metal pin) supposed to be a really tight fit initially? So tight you need to tap it with a hammer to get it in, and you can't turn it by hand?
The bush was quite tight but I know that is supposed to be.

No, should be a precision fit, should push in. if you have to force it in there will be no space for lubricant and the bearing surfaces will generate high friction and heat and deteriorate quickly!

Agree with Phil, well partly, yes it should be a precision fit, should push in with a 'slight' bit of encouragement, however it lubricant shouldn't be let anywhere near it.

You should not grease polybushes as found on cars etc. The Alloy bushes on bike shocks are self lubing so technically dont need lubing but dont think its an issue if you lube as well. any excuse to lube up oohh baby
