I am thinking of possibly changing my tyres depending on the winter we have. Running 2.1 at the moment Conti race kings not had any probs in the summer with them at all. Whats every body running this winter ?

Same as I run in the summer, WTB Weirwolf 2.5's. Ferocious grip on stony/shaly ground (trail ctrs.) and hight volume for floaty feel and good traction. Not the best in deep mud but who wants to ride in deep mud anyway?

The terrible weather this summer has assured me that my 2.2 Mountain Kings will be sufficient come winter

I found my Mountain kings 2.2's were struggling a bit on the Dragons back a couple of weeks back. It was wet and they were all over the place and the back tyre got stripped.
Ive upped mine now to 2.4 mountain kings. They are a lot slower on climbs and can be hard going on grass but they grip like hell on the trails. I did llandegla over a week ago with them on and they were brilliant, It was a little wet there but they got me round with out having to worry.
i will go back to 2.2's for the summer.

they are good tyres. Ive only put protection tyre on the back. I can quite imagine that the slates tear them to bits.
I might try a sticky compound mountain king for next summer.

Can u get mt kings with protect? Yea, the slate just eats tyres. There 1 section just b 4 u get 2 dinorwig car park that nearly guarantees a blow out every time if u r going flat out.

conti 2.2 and 2.4 in the kings, and 2.3 in vertical. there are skinnier ones.
i rate the verticals as they get abused quite a bit by me and last. worth paying a bit extra for the pros.
martin will tell you about the mt kings.
what did you go for in the end mart??
