Just cycled up Drum, all the way to the summit for a mega long blast down. Highly recommend it to anyone fancying something a little different, just make sure you take your pedalling legs/lungs with you. Managed to split my tubeless rear tyre on the way down though, cue lots of swearing and goo everywhere. Thank god for the spare tube in my Bak or it'd have been one hell of a depressing push back to the van. Edit; spilling mistook.

Erm... Not sure really mate, turned up in Tal Y Bont and went right up to by the roman road and parked in gravelly bit. Off up around Trefriw tonight.

I know where ya mean, I was just wondering which end of the Roman road you started from.
Do ya know some decent riding round Trefriw?

Yeah some good bits around Geirionedd with an excellent technical DH into Trefriw itself. Ended up going from conwy up behind the backs of Pen and Llanfair tonight. Went right up behind an old slate quarry past a big opening in the rocks and a tiny little rock built shelter. Some fantastic scenery but we ended up lost at the top (near the roman road.) in the dark and had to come down on the tarmac via Henryd. Bit of a crappy end to a real good ride, climbed some serious meters these last two nights. *on VP-Frees* Must be mad. I'm going to look into getting a second set of wheels -something mega light- and fit some XC rubber to make these little outings a little more leg friendly.

Yep, I'm only recently getting back into it really. Seem to have inadvertantly spent the last few years jumping my way around trail centres and forgetting how to ride properly! Amazed at the potential of Conwy mountain, Drum etc at the moment. A lot of riding to be done there.

Your right there mate, theres some class riding up there. Recently got memory map which is a god's send for planning off the beaten track routes.
Its to easy to just go ride trail centres every weekend and forget the real mountains ;D

Rode from Llanddulas to that old quarry with the rock built shelter via Conwy mountain last Sunday morning. Put in a great pace, weather was excellent. Total distance 35 miles or so, left home 8.15am and back home by 12 noon with very tired legs. Great ride. Highly recommend it. The downhill on the N Wales path from the quarry back down to the lake by the car park on Sychnant Pass is super fast and one of the greatest in these parts.

Yeah great descent. Can't believe we missed the trail to be honest, prats! Think there's a few of us going up there again on Thursday. Did you ride up Conwy mountain through Cadnant park? That's also a great DH back from the Sychnant into Conwy.
