Probably going to head down to ride the Cli-macx this weekend but fancy adding a bit on to lengthin it up a bit as its a long way to travel for such a short ride, has anyone got any ideas for adding a few extra km on to it.
Its only 15km so would be nice to add an extra 5 to 10km on to it

Aren't the Mach 1, Mach 2, etc, in the same area?

Aren't the Mach 1, Mach 2, etc, in the same area? Quite a bit further south and not much fun except for a couple of sections.

Right click and 'Save Link As' to get them on your PC, if you left click you just get a pge of text Once you've downloaded them, right click, open with and browse to the memory map executable file. You can also open them from within memory map by selecting import from within the Overlay drop down menu, changing the filetype to GPX and then browsing to the file you downloaded.

I went and did the CliMachX today on the way to CyB and I was really disappointed with it Loads of fire road, then a hairy bit of singletrack on a slight downhill: there were lots of jumps but only managed to get my speed up enough for one of them, only to get to the crest and see the trail turn sharply left. Front wheel wheelie and brown shorts time. Looking at the way all the tyre marks went I was luck not to plunge down into the river. Then you go up a muddier fire road then you go down a fire road and just when you're getting up enough speed for it to be fun, you double back and have to back up an almost paralell single track? A couple of bits at the top were quite good but was brought to a sudden stop by some big off camber, wet rock with big gaps in between. The trail has been paved with stone in places, but it was slippy as hell in the wet. The final hairpins looked good when you get to the top: but it was so slow - slower than the end of the Blue at Llandegla. I don't think I'll be going back. I should have realised that the empty car park on a Saturday morning was a bad sign. I did the Tarw at CyB afterwards and found it much more enjoyable, despite all the fire road on that trail!

I'm shocked mate:
1) because I think the Tarw is sh*t
and
2) because i think the Climachx is brilliant! My only complaint is that it's too short. I always find the last downhill very fast and swoopy and end up being spat out on the fireroad down to the carpark grinning from ear to ear.
You're right about that off-camber, gappy rock section though, that could do with some work to improve it.

I like the Tarw and ClimachX. Tarw I prefer on a bigger travel bike, didn't like it on my 120mm stumpy. ClimachX is all about the last downhill, only complaint is it's length for the time it takes to travel there.

The thing i like about the climachx is its a trail thats had little maintenence and nature reclaiming it back which made it feel more natural than man made, but yes the craggy rock needs some work and that sharp left is a little cheecky ;D

Perhaps you could go back and have a go at my Cli-machx harder route. A link is on the routes page of this site. It makes the Cli-machx much more fun

You could try and combine some of the Dyfi Enduro downhills with the climachx to try and extend it. I've got a gpx of the Dyfi somewhere.
