Just wondering if anyone has done a skills course at Llandegla or anywhere else. And if you think they are worth the money ? I was just thinking i could do with improving my technical skills to improve confidence after a couple of nasty falls. I think my main fault is using my breaks too much instead of letting the bike just flow.

As far as using brakes too much is concerned, thats a problem I have now too since my accident....I worry that somehow going really fast = the bike is going to tip up and send me over the handle bars..."better stick the back brake on just in case" type of thing....is that similer for you?

There is a ladies skills core on 3rd December at Llandegla. Im waiting for someone to book me one for a xmas pressie. ;D My confidence has improved no end recently, its just practice. Im lucky enough to live close to Llandegla, so quite country back lane im there in 20 mins on the black run. Ive been 3-4 times a week. They are due to open a new bit of black, got to say its a brilliant new bit of track. I need to improve on lifting my front end over jumps more, and the dropping in and out ? Also each to their own, but i bought some knee pads and cartoni full face helmet. It is nearly as light as a normal helmet and you dont feel its there. Not too hot either. I look a bit of a ninja, but feel so much more confident with it

Jeeez scrappy, if your doing black course then you must be good. I havnt ever been to any of the proper trails before so am really looking fwd to it and seeing how I get on.
I just looked it up, 85squids...time to start saving.
I need to improve on...everything!!! hahaha.
I dont have a helmet yet, I would feel a bit silly with a full face, as I am not that good or experienced yet.
I do worry about my shoulders though, is there any sort of protection you can get for them that doesnt look or cost too pro...I would feel really silly turning up in lots of posh gear, and being completely crap, it would be like some comedy sketch....but then I suppose it doesnt matter how you look when you know that you will be safe hey...hummmm
