He couldn't have done it without the rest of his team who sacrificed their own chances in order to get Cav the win. Very selfless. PS. Its an open secret as well that Cavendish will be riding for team Sky next year. A British team with a British rider wearing the rainbow jersey, fantastic .

Interviews portray a jubilant team happy with the roll they played. It's like any team sport the goal/point scorer gets the headlines the team is happy with the result

The team is happy of course, but its Cav that's world champion not team GB. Would footballers give their all if only the scorer got to be a winner? I think cycling is pretty unique in the way that riders sacrifice their own ambition.
