Small minded people spoiling other peoples fun. The jumps have been up there for years why is it only now that they have decieded to act like a munch of to$$ers. Although im no massive jump god, i think the place was great and was planning on going up there soon for a mess about. This has really wound me up I wonder if they know how many people this is going to upset and if they know how many locals are now going to have nowhere to ride. I remember when i was younger, me and my mates used to spend all summer holidays building jumps and trails in various local woods (polycrochlin, the Bryn etc etc) and they always ended up getting destroyed by some local busy body. It was so upsetting after you had spent weeks shoveling dirt and getting thing shaped just right. I also remember when we discoverd Rhyd y foel, it was quality, tucked away on top of the mountain, its was one place where you feflt it was okay to dig but now they have flattened this to. I feel sorry for you guys that are seriously in to ya jumps, as from your pics you ride up there a fair bit Rant Over

I built those jumps 10-12 years ago. Used to be just a small circular route taking in some bomb holes until we went a bit mad one summer. Oh well, many happy memories... Hang on a minute, there are 100's of trails and tracks up there with the majority of them using natural features, not as if they can destroy them is it. Some great freeride all over that hillside. We should all start using it more than ever, maybe even contact the council and see what their view is on the matter???

Seems like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted! Has anybody who buit or used the trail ever been approached by the landowners or warned off on previous occasions or politly enquired if anyone minds them using the area. Perhaps if you do choose to seek some sort of permission or arrangement it would be an idea to get a plan together with a group of you helping to maintain the woodland and act as rangers to report and repair any misuse. I ahve never been up there and if its anything like Pwllycrochan Woods cycling will be banned and frowned upon, are there any signs saying no cycling or private property also why is it an area of SSSI ( site of special scientific interest) and a protected woodland. Did anyone who used it know and choose to ignore it and take the attitude, "oh well other people ride here so I thought whats the harm". The people who have levelled the jumps and blocked the tracks have done it for a reason and may think mtbers are a bunch of irresponsible vandals.
