Hi all, not an ideal second post but it's why I've got some spare time to do some forum browsing
First time at Llandegla in about 18months on Sunday, seems to have gotten a bit more extreme than last time I was there lol
Had watched a few videos of the new stuff was excited to be getting back on the bike after hurting my elbow at CyB a few weeks earlier.
Good group of about 11 of us so we were all egging each other on. Was a little nervous of the Northshore section but thought I'd be ok and followed one of the lads who'd done it last week.
Hammered it along and was following quite closely, got to the end of the Northshore section and launched it off the end - felt great as I landed but then realised that I was heading straight for a big tree that's kind of on the natural line as you come off the wood.
Like I said we were motoring along but I just managed to avoid the tree but hit the big muddy mound of roots etc to the right. Bars came back up at me and I caught the tree with my hip and launched me into the air. It's all a blur after that, landed heavy and had to crawl out the way as about 6 others were coming behind.
Properly winded and my side hurt. Caught my breath and went to pick up the bike ! OOOOUCH !
Looked down at my arm and could tell something was wrong after I peeled my coat back.

Had to walk all the way down the rest of the section and from there the lads I was with did a cracking job of looking after me. Ambulance ride to Wrexham on gas + air, then a shot of morphine. End result is 3 fractures and after manipulation (under Propofol !) it's as back in line as can be expected. Back next week to check up but it's going to be a while before I'm on the trails again
I think my old bike knew it was its last ride before being replaced and was taking its revenge for 5 years of abuse !
