My first proper bike (After my handed down Raleigh Grifter and an 18 speed rigid Magna) was a GT Arrowhead in metallic blue. Had Marin Tuned RST 318 forks, Yellow Magura HS33's and matching Wellgo/DMR V12 pedals. My pics i'm afraid. Sold it about 7 years ago to fund my first car. Bought second bike about 4 years ago - a Scott Voltage YZ2. Went for the Magura HS33's again - still didn't believe in discs, and replaced the SR Suntour forks for some Marzocchi Bomber MX comps. Unfortunatley, i choose looks over function, and by the time i really got into biking again (After a few rides, it spent its life in the shed until last year) I found the jump style frame a little too much hard work for XC. So sold it and bought my Rockhopper

TBH, that looks better than the 2008 Scott Voltages.
I was only thinking about this the other day. My first bike was a road bike, a Raleigh Olympus. That lasted me for years until I replaced it with a cheap mail order thing. I then had my first mtb, which was a Trek 400 sport (rigid). Only got rid about 3 years ago. Got the bug again now and that's why I recently bought the Giant.

I don't have any pics, but Ive owned a couple of bikes before the ones I have now.
The 1st bike I had was a Spcialized rockhopper back in '93, I loved it. I ugraded it spending hundreds. It had all XT on it, before I could afford sus forks I had a Girvin flex stem, what a piece of kit! then eventually I got a new set of maitou 2 forks. sold it to a mate in work.
After that I got myself a new Klein Attitude in 2001, another lovely bike, sold that to get my Scott I have now.

My first bike was a road bike. The mountain bike came later Marin Palisades trail had for three years. Then Giant Full Sus was great but needed a lock out for rear. Give up biking for 5 years then bought a Marin again hard tail this time a great frame replaced brakes and seat. Looking at possible full sus again now.

My first MTB was a 'Raleigh Massif', i must have been 14 or 15 ish. A group of us used to ride from Nantwich to Bickerton hills on a regular basis (a 20 mile round trip, i was a bit fitter in those days ) and have a razz around for a few hours. The National Trust have stopped that happening now . Didn't really do much MTBing after i left school. My first 'grown ups' MTB was a 2003 Carrera Kraken, my mrs bought it me as a engagement present! That was the bike that got me back into the sport, i loved that bike. I pretty much rode that into the ground. I replaced it with a 2006 Kona Cinder Cone, another bike that i really enjoyed but was unfortunately stolen from my garage at the start of this year . My insurance company put me onto a replacement scheme with Wheelies, who offered me a 17.5% discount off any bike if i was to buy one over the £500 that i got back for the Cinder Cone. That was the main reason why i ended up with the 5 Pro that i have now. I'd been looking at it for quite a while but i simply couldn't afford it. It worked out ok though, i managed to get a £2200 bike for a tad over £1300 .

I had a Tomahawk, followed by a Chopper, followed by a Grifter LOL Can't beat the old Sturmey Archer gears First MTB was an '89 Diamondback Apex (which I've still got), I then upgraded that to a Marin Eldridge in '94 I think it was, kept that for a few years, and then gave up the MTB to concentrate on business and family stuff. Now I'm back with a vengeance LOL

I forgott I had a raleigh burner BMX in blue with yellow mag wheels. They have just bought out an anniversary one, I sooo wanted one! ;D ;D ;D

I've just remembered, I had a Raleigh Chipper...a small version of the Chopper. It was complete with handlebar tassles, piece of thin cardboard attached to the front fork to obtain a clattering noise on the spokes. Welsh Flag sticking up from the back of the seat. At the time, it was the dogs!!!

My first decent bike was a red Rohopper A1 Rigid, after that I got a job in a local bike shop so started to build my own bikes up, I had various kenisis alloy frames built up with various parts. I also owned a custom built GT Zaskar and Azonic DS1. I remeber when i was younger saving up all my money from weekend jobs and spending every penny of it upgrading my bikes. Nower days i can genrally afford to buy bits and bobs for my bike but there was somthing really satisfing about saving up for weeks on end just to buy somthing small like a wheel skewer or new set of bars. Only got the one pic that has been scanned in as they were all owned pre digital camera ;D Heres a pic of me about 10 yrs ago riding one of my bikes in our local woods where we spent many a summer holiday building dh trails and jumps (happy days)
