I quite fancy this, haven't got a light weight wetsuit or road bike though, so will have to look in to that first!!!

Your welcome to borrow either mine or Traceys Carbon road bikes if you want, If I remember rightly you're about as tall as me so my medium Planet X should fit, Trace's is a small. Trace (Mrs igg) was due to do the triathlon too until we managed to get tickets for the big Stone Roses gig that weekend so we won't be needing any of the bikes.

I don't have a wet suit either (don't think the scuba dry suit would work!!). I think there's a shop in Chester that hire them out for the event. Run and bike I'm not worried about, but I need to get started on some swim training- I can probably manage 100m at most!

Bought a shorty wet suit new off eBay last June for the great north swim it was £17.00 and cheaper than hiring. Happy if anyone wants to borrow it. If you've never done any serious open water swimming its probably a good idea to try and get some in if you can. Lots of people who struggled with the great north swim had trained length wise in a pool but never experienced the coldness of open water. We were lucky you can swim in Salford quays here in Manchester so we did practicing there. It was with a company called u swim. I know they do or did sessions in princes dock, Liverpool. Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs but thought it might help.

The Nantwich one is looking like the same date as the Llanrwst one. Although not confirmed yet, I was talking to one of the Carneddau Tri Club committee members at swimming tonight, and he gave the provisional date of Llanrwst as the 2nd Sept. Open water swim training is available at Manley Mere by Neston, just off the M56. Not too sure when it starts or what night, but they have different length courses set out and also canoeists in the mere incase anyone gets into difficulty.
