Looking at my next mtb and I'm erring toward a carbon hardtail but still undecided on the whole 26" or 29" thing. Does anyone currently ride a 29er? Experiences?

Yeah, got a Raleigh 6000R, fully riged. It's got a steel frame and rides nice.

29ers would be really good if you turned the 9 upside down.

Yes I've got a few. Latest is the Rumblefish. I read an article that it was meant to replicate the ex8( which I've just sold). I was astonished how similar it feels and I would recommend this one if you enjoy black trail centre riding. If your into more natural stuff the Canyon 29 hardtail is outstanding value. A lot of people make fun that they're clown bikes or they've got waggon wheels but these are generally people who have ridden them around the car park or haven't even got on one. I haven't met anyone who owns one that regrets buying it.

I have a 29er and 26 inch bikes, and i find the 26 inch is more nimble on tight singletrack, but the 29er seems to roll better on semi -technical tracks and fireroads, open moorland etc.

You could be really rad and go for 650b wheelsize instead!
