Hi.... I have recently bought a Marin Palisades FRAME off ebay to build up for some after work training, whilst i have most parts or am comftable with what i want/need i am a little unsure over the headset...... i have just ordered one of these and am unsure if its right, i know the forks i have are 1.1/8th and im assuming its a standard fit, although stack height??? no idea what thats about??? or have a made a booboo? maybe i should have asked BEFORE ordering, ah well www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=24984

i have fasioned a tool out of a set of spring clamps, im sure it will work, as long as it fits

The headset you are buying is a standard one, so as long as the frame you are buying is also standard you'll be fine. Looks like the latest models of Palisades (2011 and 2012 at least) have a "semi integrated" headset which may throw a spanner in the works if you have a newish frame on order.
Stack height I think is just the combined height of the races, which might only be important if the fork you are using has had the steerer already cut to a short length.

Thanks for the advice, the headset is now fitted!!! it went on surprisingly easy actually, it didnt need pressing into the frame as i managed to do it by had without to much effort!!!
