Could this be a new era of willy waving? www.strava.com/A few of us have been using this app for the last few weeks and I think its safe to say its got healthily competitive ;D . Ive been doing a bit of testing and using the phone app for mtb is a bit sketchy to say the least as phone gps can be pretty inaccurate in the woods but garmin data is looking pretty spot on. Ive created an MBNW club on it to if anyone fancies joining

Lovin it Oggy, 'my tracks' googles own GPS works pretty well, however Strava's own app was shite on my HTC but it's so addictive that Trace has promised me a Garmin for our 10th Wedding anniversary next month......... bring on the segments ;D

yes still getting to grips with this, and not really used it in anger yet, but looks good. Amazing how many segments there already are on there even in quite remote places.
Have also discovered that there is a privacy setting to automatically remove the GPS data for a certain radius around your house / place of work if your ride starts from there. Seems like a very good idea!
Don't own a Garmin, but seems to work fine with uploaded gpx's from Satmap. Not used gps on the phone yet, but I doubt it is as reliable and my phone battery drains fast enough as it is!

Yup Rupert, it kills phone battery so another reason to justify a new Garmin It uploaded my Runkeeper gpx files no problem too

Yup Rupert, it kills phone battery so another reason to justify a new Garmin It uploaded my Runkeeper gpx files no problem too It can burn the battery but there are quite a few ways of avoiding it. Make sure your brightness is right down, switch off 3G, make sure there's no other apps running in the background and put the phone on standby as Strava will still be running, that way a 3 hour ride should take no more then 30% of your battery life.
