The organiser told me on Saturday that 340 had registered for seeding so 120 DNF'd or didn't bother getting the bike out the car! I believe they ran out of cans of MTFU at the Beics Brenin yesterday MNBW times for the full 5 stages: 29:25 - Aled Orange (42nd) 30:18 - Monster (54th) 33:07 - iggy (129th) 33:09 - James (131st) 34:38 - Neil H (161st) 34:57 - Dan B (166th) 36:00 - Rob, MrBump (177th) 37:56 - Ken Obi Wan (200th) Exceptional display fella's, no shortage of MTFU in the MBNW camp ;D The worse it got the more I loved it, and only 2 'offs' for me today so a bit of a result!

Yep that was undoubtedly the worst conditions I've ever ridden a bike in, strangely good fun though up till stage 4 when the waterproofs failed and the wind picked up Timings were spot on this time so will be looking to do Eastridge & possibly Dyfi, going to go over to Eastridge to take a look at the trails in the next few weeks as I've never ridden there

It was definately a challenge with survival being the name of the game! Everyone was a winner just for sticking with it and completing the course. There was healthy competition between MBNW throughout the Saturday and Sunday. One minute you'd want to beat your mates time and the next you'd be cheering him on to go faster Some very good times posted by some and more than respectable times by the rest of us. Having that number strapped to your bike really does make you push your limits and I felt my riding improved a fair bit over the weekend as a result. Thoroughly enjoyed and looking forward to another one... In the sun

Well surviving without major incident was a bonus . Filthy weather but still enjoyed it . Saturday was a better day for me than Sunday riding wise .Stages 3 & 4 were my worst , 3 I expected but 4 was disappointing . I was caught by the eventually winner of the Grand Vets (Gary Higgins) that many times I think I saw more of him than my Mrs yesterday . But fair play he was a great bloke chatting quite happily before and between stages even though we were miles apart in ability and focus on the day as were all of the competitors to be fair . 287 riders set seeding times on Saturday and an unbelievable 26 didn't start on Sunday ? there was another 37 that DNF for one reason or another and 224 fools got to the end ;D . Will I be entering another round ? probably not I always knew being timed going downwards was never going to be great for me , pretty sure I go up hill better than down ;D but it was still fun . Good Luck to the Lads doing some of the other rounds and maybe I'll try and get there and lend some support as the shouts of encouagement and banter was much appreciated both Saturday and Sunday .
