Now I've learned how to put photos up, I'll show off my trail scratches as well. Happened about two months ago, at Coed Llandegla, when the front end washed out over a bump (bit of loose stuff - purely bad luck, I reckon ). I must have used my elbow as the brake, cos when I came to a stop there was a fairly significant inch-long hole in it. And I could have sworn I could see the bone, before the blood started pouring out!! Whilst I appreciated Caz's offer to allow me to use one of her socks for a tournique, I decided, instead, to man-up and finish the ride. After trying to wash it out, myself, in the sink and failing I went in search of amateur medical attention. All credit to Bob in the centre for trying to clean it up for me (he was very gentle, despite my encouragements to "just rip into it"), but it still required a trip to A&E and then, surprisingly, two operations under general anaesthetic, to clean all the bits of trail I'd rammed into my elbow through the hole in my arm. Tidy darts!! Get yourselves onto the Pantomime ward at the Maelor - never was a place so aptly named!! Here's a pic of the hole before they started trying to clean it out in A&E: And here it is, four days, two operations and 14 stitches later: I was banned off MTBing for a few weeks, but back at it and back at rugby training now!! Like I said at the time - "Load of old fuss over nothing"!!

Better, even, was the arrow they had to draw on my arm, so they knew which one to operate on. Could they not have found an inch-long hole in my arm from their notes??? I know doctors are supposed to have bad handwriting, but that's just mental!!!

Brilliant, lots of stitches It had to sting eh? I've had worse, to be honest (but not from biking) - I refused all the pain meds, anyway.
