Took me ages to get a decent helmet, tried loads on, seemed to me all the ones which had good reviews did not seem to fit me properly (must have got a funny shaped head). Best bet is to go in a shop and try some on, safety wise they cant be sold without passing a number of safety standards. In the end i settled on the Urge Endur-O-Matic. very comfy and very good protection only downside gets very hot (especially in this lovely hot weather were having!!!!!!)
As for the hydration packs you cant go wrong with any cambelbak but i went for a Osprey Viper as they were cheaper and i liked the magnetic mouthpiece holder (saves trying to find it when your gasping at the top of the hill)

I think with helmets the only way to do it is to try them on in a shop, as they all suit different shaped heads... and nearly always the one you think you like the look of is really uncomfortable.

Hiya matey. helmets i like are giro hex or fox flux both good lids mate. as for hydration systems i have a osprey viper 13 which i find good for days out rides. not sure if you'd want a larger or smaller capacity version. lots out there dude .. look online and go visit local shops. try before you buy.
