The accessories should be covered under your house insurance if you've got the right policy. This also applies to the bike, if usually less than a grand. If it costs more than that it needs to be a separate item on the policy. Mine costs £30 extra per bike. I hope this helps.

Speaking of house contents insurance, ours is almost due for renewal, and I think we are about to be stung because the £4000 limit for individual bikes on Marks and Spencer is reduced to £1000 on renewal. Anyone who was on M&S already confirm that this will happen, and if so, anyone have any other recommendations. Would be especially good to hear from the people who have had to make claims as well I'm sure there was a thread about this a few months back, but I couldn't find it Edit: A quick search around looks like NFU Mutual and Hiscox might be possibles, but have to check. And yes I know Hiscox is supposed to be well posh, but the quote is only about £4 more than we pay now

Well I'm with M&S have been for few years now, mine was renewed in August and I was told that as long as I renew we still get the unlimited cover including the bikes! Only if we changed to another of there policies would we lose the existing benefits!

Good rates excellent if you need to claim and will insure specialist equipment (In my case thats computer equipment....just for the record )
