Thinking of getting some new wheels but not sure to go for DT 4.2 or 5.1. If your're using these rims which one's ? Why ? What size tyres are you using on them ? If i want to run 2.5 tyres will i have to go for 5.1 ?

I ve got the 5.10 with 2.3 conti vertical. I 'think' that the 5.10 are tougher and lighter. With the 5.10 i got hope pro 2 hubs. Not sure if they come on the 4s. Give matt in revolution bangor a call, he' ll be able to tell you exactly what s what.

Thanks for info boys .Checked DT website today and 4.2 rims for 1.5 to 2.35 tyres 5.1 = 1.9 to 2.5 . Max rider weight 4.2 90 Kg, 5.1 = 110 Kg max . Looks like 4.2 would meet my needs as only looking at 2.35 Highrollers as max size tyres. Cheers P.S. 4.2 430 grams 5.1 500 grams.

I would say the 4.2's would be the best option they will be more than strong enough. Also the high roller come highly recommended, they are well priced and grippy as hell in all condtions they give me a lot of confidence, always worth a sniff on ebay for them as you can often pick a pair of brand new ones up cheap, had them off there before. I tend to stick to the single ply 60a, dont think theres any need to pay the extra for the dual ply unless you are sticking them on a dh bike they weigh more as well. The 60a's last the longest and role well while still maintaing a lot of grip, the 40a super tackys are great for dh bikes but drag a lot and wear a lot faster.
