Now that im building my Kona Dr Dew project bike Im after some commuter/cycle path tyres to throw on it. I dont want slicks, im after something with minmal tread in the center and slightly more knobly on the outer edges. Ive been looking at the conti range, mainly these type of tyres www.conti-tyres.co.uk/conticycle/ti%20travel%20contact.shtmlAnyone use any such tyres for getting about? If so give me your thoughts.

They look pretty good to me mate although a problem I've always had with semi-slicks is their tendancy to suffer at the hands of broken glass (you know, the sort all the way up and down cycletracks. ). Lost count of how many road bike punctures I get and I've had the same with MTB semi's. Tubeless with sealant? Obviously a puncture wouldn't be ideal if you're scooting about with the nipper in tow.

Touch wood, I've been ok with my road bike up to now, I know what you mean though the cyclepaths are a state, the wheels im putting on are tubeless ready so that could be an option, but Im trying to keep the build cost down.

The majority of my puncture occur riding through the ghettos of Penrhyn Bay and Towyn, dem gangsta kidz smashin fings up! Aiii. There's someone on here flogging a Joes kit cheapish?

I've got Geax Streetrunners but I think they're a bit too slick for what you're after.
They don't mind a bit of off road though as long as it's dryish (i.e. not too slippery). The problem I had with "off roading" with them was they were so narrow you'd sink into anything slightly spongy.
The 1.25s are really nice and quick at 100psi but the 1.75s I got recently (as the 1.25 were out of stock) seem a lot slower, maybe because the pressure is a lot lower or maybe I've just got a bit fatter ;D
