My first time in Llangela great place, great ride, with great mates (gar) plenty of snow made for some slippery riding, not as tricky as i thought not sure if you can call that a black run. Any thoughts on that? ?

when i asked i was told it was the climbing more than anything that made it black, but its no worse than some red climbs at other centres imo

There are a lotta people on this forum that say exactly the same as you. The Black's not a black and the red's not a red. But I think each trail centre has to grade each of their trails accordingly. So if they've only got 3 trails, for example, one has to be a blue, one a red and the other a black. So it's a black for that trail centre, but maybe only compares to, say, a red at other centre's.

yes, have to agree, each centre has to match with what its got, an example being spooky wood descent and other parts of glentress being rated red where other centres would have these as black

The only obstacle of note on the Llandegla Black was that log drop into that right hand berm, they took it out due the carnage it was causing. Here's a good video I found of it on Youtube >> uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8KxDEIjA1nw
