What do you think about this Hydration pack, I need something a little bigger than my Camelbak Rogue but do not want to be spending Camelbak Mule price's www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=76696Spec wise it looks and sounds good but no reivew's on it. Im also buying some other things from chain reaction so it won't be a bad price

Hi Ross I have the osprey manta 25 lt. It's the only bike backpack I have had so cant compare to any of the other brands. They are of very good quality though, back packs are the only thing osprey make and have been doing so for years, so they know how to put a good one together. The reservoir works well with no leeks as yet. It has a bit valve that when turned 180 degrees stops the flow which stops unwanted leeking at any time. Also has a magnetic clasp that attaches to the sternum strap. This also works very well, but would have to beware if ever using compass. Osprey raptor 18 has very good reviews but have not checked the price.

It's not huge and I think quite a few on here have bigger all day packs. As your CB Rogue will do you for summer/short rides you could do with something bigger for winter/longer (all day) rides which will take additional layers, spares, food, etc and provided it has compression straps (like the VP 13 has) you can reduce size when it's not full. Better to have the capacity for when you need it than wishing you had the capacity.

Im only usually out for max 6 hours. This should not be a hard decision but since they are like £50 plus i need to make sure im buying the right one this time. Think i need to have a travel around some bike shops to have a look at them closer up. Thanks for the advice once again

Ive got a viper 13. No its not massive but does have a 3lt bladder and is defo big enough for all day riding. I carry just about a bit of everything and still have room to spare. Just remember big suitcase syndrome ( the bigger the case the more you put in )

I use the osprey zealot 16 more than enough room to get your jacket in and stuff plus got a tidy tool roll in bottom compartment ;D
