Not strictly a willy wave but as I got to LDG and had an hour to kill before meeting Damon & Redkite so not enough time for a red lap, I thought I'd have a blast around the Blue route. Was a bit shoked at myself when I got to the top of the climb in 23:30 as its only my 5th ride since November! and I finished the blue in 39:30 which I'm chuffed as it's the 1st time i've done it under 42 mins. Got back just in time for a breather before doing the red with Damon & Redkite, nice1, thoroughly enjoyed it

Went round the Marin today and try a willy wave, 24.50 to the top of the climb at the start or the single track, then took jacket off, unbeliveable as it was the same time as LLandegla but felt longer, Only had 2 dabs and finished in 2hr. 06mins, thought id have been nearer the 2 hr mark, must work on those climbs, Stunning views of Tryfan/ Glyders,

I wonder if there would be any advantage in starting at Hafna, so that by the time you got to the Llanrwst carpark, you'd be warmed up for that climb!

Well done Mark - It's still pretty gloopy up there, surely a sub 1hr loop is on the cards in the summer

Join the dots up dude for a true lap I press start as you leave the car park onto the climb, the problem being when you get back you want to thunder past the washes and car park. Maybe we should agree climb start to jet washes, a bit like we agree Bridge to Gantry on the Nordschleife.

Trouble with that is it get pretty congested round the jet washes and the speed i was doing off the last berm into the jet wash area i nearly collected a few people on the way through Ok next time for you i will start before the jet wash area so i dont have to come out onto the car park at speed and risk getting knocked over

Not quite a wave, more of a wiggle!! Red/black inc jj's and log's 1hr 30min (not me - the lad) Thanks to Mark who sent us a readout of his lap we had some idea of what to aim for. I got the lad a cycle computer and he used the stop watch (not ridetime!!!), he lost 3 mins on the climb (21), was about 4 mins back at the start of the black(33) and 10 mins down at the top of the REALLY steep climb at the end of the back(58). He is still doing the JJ jumps (and log's), and finished in 1:30min (about 10 mins quicker than 2 weeks ago - but 6 mins down on his best from last year in the dry). I think he is loosing quite a bit at the end, but at least now he has something to aim for, he can do a sub 20 to the top but he only seems to do this if he is riding with someone else. Funny thing is when I meet him in the car park, he normally points out other riders "oh, I was chatting to him whilst on the......." I can't speak when I'm riding!!! Still aiming to get 1:15 with the jumps before he reaches 12 (next Feb). Oh and my time was about 1:35-1:40(ish) no jj's
