Normally somewhere near my birthday I try a bit of a faster lap of the Marin just to see how things are going . Today was the first chance I've had and got a 1.48.42 , not much of a wave but not to bad for me . Thats a good time Ken, especially on a bigger bike.

1st proper wave of the year for me Did LDG red/black (no JJ's) last night in 1 h 16:55 I'm quite happy, but timed it all wrong did the climb in 21:47, nearly 2 minutes quicker than last time! so knew I would pay later on.... nearly siezed up with lower back pain up the final black climb, then literally dragged my fat a*se to the jetwash will have to judge my pace better nextime! Pretty pleased as I've been stuck out at sea for 3 weeks...... now if I could just stay away from the chippy and lose a stone.....

There was a diversion in place at Llandegla this weekend (just at the start of the proper red - just after the blue splits off) has that now gone? The lad did a 1:21 (inc JJ jumps, log's etc), looking at some GPS data the section we missed was only about 3 mins, so would have been about 1:24 . Hill seems to be quite hard at the mo as you always seem to be riding into a headwind! Biggest thing for us at Llandegla was the 8 year old getting to the very top of the double steep climb without stopping - he cried at the top - he said he was so happy.

The divertion is still there but as there was no-one about and it being 7:30pm, I snook around the barrier (naughty I know, but wanted a true time) it is approx 2 minutes that section. Should be fully open soon!

Not a Willy Wave but a PB for me. 1:02:48 on the LDG Red today with diversion in place so perhaps 2-3 mins to add to that time.

I was a good boy and stayed in this weekend as the Alps is getting closer and as I truly detest prom-day I thought I would whip out my Marin and find out just how much my fitness has improved in the last 12 months with a blast around the Marin Trail.
I know it not anywhere near any of you guys but I'm really pleased to have achieved a 2.05 with one puncture.
I definitely could have broken the 2hr mark as I was riding very conservatively on the rocky sections as I didn't have a spare tube!!!
I did think about quiting several times lol
Cheers to the traffic cop for giving me 3 points and a sixty quid fine for picking my phone up after it falling out of the dashboard on the way home!!!!!!!!

Little droopy wave on the Marin Sat 1.5.10, of 2.15 Started at the triangle after Hafna where the trail goes down the tar for 300m. Wash out on the middle D/H into Llanrwst Collected myself up, then bonked out on the climb . Next attempt must remember to swap the Minion on the front for an ADvantage and MTFU. Target this year is to match Kens time of 1.48!

Well done mate, good time and you've now got a target to go at. Produce proof from your phone company that there was no activity on your phone at the time of the alleged offence. The charge is "using a handheld device while driving a motor vehicle" not simply picking it up off the floor. How many officers in the car? I'd contest it.

Oh yeah, it got me looking at superlight small travel full bouncers now too...........DOH You can never have to many bikes, get one bought Waving is addictive, it starts off as harmless fun but before you know it you are writing training plans, wearing full lycra and entering races that make you feel sick. Well done and keep it up. See you at the Dyfi next year

Like speeding fines, it's down to the police to prove your guilty not down to you to prove your not if you contest it. I think they just rely on people 'bending over and taking it'!!!

Made the mistake of trying a willy wave round LDG red last night on a busy Wednesday night. Too many people to get stuck behind. I managed 55 minutes, but can't really count it because of the two closed sections (what are they doing there anyway - seem to be smoothing out all the interesting bits?). Was mainly pleased that I managed to break the 20 minute barrier for the climb though (mainly thanks to Thistle for chasing me up the hill and then overtaking to give the extra motivation... thanks for that M8 and sorry I didn't stop for a chat - was too out of breath to talk :-) ).
If we can start a LDG climb wave, then I'll have a 19:55 please?! (start of climb to end of big berm)

The wilson was waved on the marin tonight. Usual script with feeling like crap on the first climbs, wanting to give up half way round then getting the buzz on and putting my foot down near the end. Managed a 1hr 23min and 52 seconds Hated almost every painful minute of it but im sure ill be back soon for another go
