Struggling to decide between two pairs of winter shoes/boots and hoping you can help with experiences etc.
Choice is Specialized defrosters or Northwave winter boots, which would you buy???

Ive heard a lot of good press about the Northwave range and the winter boots.
I was looking at investing in some new winter boots, but they are pretty pricey. For now Im sticking with my Endura overshoes, although they are ok on the bike but no good going through puddles.

Anyone recently purchased any winter boots or have any recommendations? Dan, did you go with the Northwave winter boots? I've been able to get away with cheap shoes using spds but I'm struggling for grip now I'm on flat pedals. By the time I invest in new shoes and overshoes I could probably get some winter boots. I've seen Northwave boots, which are quite reasonably priced. I'm looking to keep the price around the £75 or lower mark

I've recently purchased some 5 10s, (the boots), they were recommended to me by others from here and they're excellent. The soles are so grippy its a struggle to reposition your feet on the pedals, really comfy and really warm - even better paired with sealskinz. The only downside is they aren't 100% waterproof.

Got myself some Shimano MW80 Gore-Tex Winter Boots on order-seem to be well rated. Fed up with having cold feet and after the last trip around Penmachno I have decided to invest in keeping me toes a little dryer and warmer ;D ;D

Well Jus and I have just done Penmachno and my feet are still warm and dry. Northwave Celcius, probably the best £80 I've spent on biking gear.

I have the Northwave Lizzard MTB shoe which are I find are great. May check the Celcius out as they are a little cheaper than the MW80 (only have them on order at the Bike Factory Chester to try them on for size!!). Cheers for info

That'll be me sorted for Christmas then--my missus found the computer left on Wiggle with the Northwave winter boots prominantly displayed

Fed up with having cold feet and after the last trip around Penmachno I have decided to invest in keeping me toes a little dryer and warmer ;D ;D Ive just bought a pair of these. Although I usually wear endura overshoes and they are pretty effective, they don't stop water seeping in through the bottom when you dismount. I seem to spend forever trying to dry out my usual riding shoes and they have started to stink a bit. They seem to be a nice snug fit, not too heavy and although they look bulky they're not. Will get them set up tonight and take them for a spin tomorrow night.
