Well, that was hard, but pretty good fun. Happy with my time, don't know it exactly yet, but i definitly got under 4 hours. Dan-sorry i didnt meet you down at CyB, i didnt consider that there'd be no phone reception down there. How did you find the race?

You're right about it being hard, especially after yesterdays snowdon loop (my excuse is in already!!). I only managed two laps as I had nothing left in the legs. But I did get a T shirt ;D Its good to go back to the old days were you have laps to do rather than one big loop like the Merida's. Some poor chap had a nasty spill off the track and into the ravine below (10-15ft). The medics were on the case and had him all strapped up ready for the ambulaance to collect. It just goes to show its a bit ropey this sport at times Just need to replenish the Carling body supply now

That was fookin ace! ;D Sorry I didn't catch you boys at all but glad you both made it back alive. ;D I had a really good race and came in at 2hrs 49mins, not bad for my first XC race eh. I was 8th in class when I left but there were more still to come in, anything in the top 20 and I'll be happy. Managed to get through the whole race with no off's and then went for a trip over the bars right at the end of the last lap. Bike was absolutely superb all day but ended up absolutely minging. Hope that bloke who was getting put on the spine board is ok. Looking forward to the next one already. ;D

Very good time there Dan - an average of 17.5km on a mtb. Which sections of the Tarw did they use then? edit: meant 17.5km/h....doh!!

Which sections of the Tarw did they use then? It was actually quite unrecognisable as being the Tarw Dyls, lots of fireroad climbs but I was surprised how much singletrack there was on a lap. They took us along the final section of Tarw singletrack (R34???) backwards and that was good but fekkin hard going, lots of traffic in there at times but fair play most people moved out of the way (obviously heard me gasping for breath behind them ;D). I was really impressed with the organisation and marshalling as well, whole event appeared to run smoothly. Buggers wouldn't give me a free Tshirt though. ;D
