Yeah that was definitely quite tough. It's the longest event I've done so far (the "50k" Meridas have been 35k and 45k with nowhere near as much climbing). That muddy downhill was horrible! I think I'll be feeling it tomorrow from when I slid into the side and rolled down the rocks Bad luck to the chap who drank the special 'energy gel' . My brother said he was about 30, they gave him a load of salt water to make him puke up in the toilets until the ambulance arrived! Hope it didn't end up too serious. Does anybody know if the results and photos are going up on the web? There should be some good photos - plenty of photographers! I have sent 1Bike1 and email to ask but it might be a while before they reply.

Enjoyed myself out there today , Oh so pleased I went for the 24K option, that hill was a real killer . 1000 mtrs of climbing in 24k and 2000 in 48k no wonder it felt hard .

Well done everyone today for what was one of the toughest mountain biking events I have taken part in. It was 3½ hours of hard bloody work!
Good photos there sooz. I was number 115. Well done for taking part after your trepidation when we were all talking about entering.
