gr8 pics rob and a good event although i did not feel good on the bike all day. lot of fast riders up hill but also lot of slow ones down the band was fantastic think i came 200 cos i was last one to do full distance. hope for better next year ;D Monster I know what you mean about the fast up hill slow downhill riders, some of them were really getting in the way on the downs, managed to slide past a fair few, one of the high lights of the day was on the last downhill section overtaking a woman on an off camber bit, as I overtook she fell in to me and ended up on top, with both of us clipped in it ment she was wiggling about on top of me, I usually have to pay for that ;D Also heard a couple of riders talking at the end saying to each other that there were loads of maniacs on the trail, they really werent happy about it but what do they expect its a bloody MTB Race Quality pics summit, I was to busy blowing out me ass to take any Ps. hope your mate was okay, sounded like a serious crash from what ive heard

i had a coule of excursions on the decents due to people coming off in front of me, so it was either a Tbone into them or take evasive action into the scenery, ended up with a nice gash on my elbow but most of the decents were bogged down with riders tippy toeing which was more dangerous in some ways The last muddy section was fun towards the end, figured it was easier to just let go of the brakes & hang on as it harder to go slower down there, The bike weiged a ton after that section tooo Fairplay hats off to you hard tail boys & girls, you must have asses like babboons today ;D Just spending most of today cleaning the bike off, Never had it so muddy Need to get some decent training sorted now. Cant wait for the next one ;D

Doug has the look of a man regretting his choice of DH tyres for an XC marathon! ;D Dragging them round all day was more than worth the effort so I could really go for it on the slick descents. Great pictures Rob. The rightplacerighttime guy should have his up in a few days.

Long route was an extra 3k or so. Is the figure on your Garmin back to Macynlleth or just to the finish in the woods? What did everyone get from their GPS logs distance wise? Dragging them round all day was more than worth the effort so I could really go for it on the slick descents. All the descents were brilliant weren't they. I had a mare with the Nobby Nic's on all those big rock slabs -no grip whatsoever- but they were chuffin ace coming down the rutty, muddy bits. My back tyre is full of damp spots where it has punctured over the course of the race and the Stan's has sealed it. Pretty good to see it working.

that was from the town start and back to the town at the end, although i did cut route on the road section in the village and got onto the A road all the way back to mach , Where was the extra 3K?, we did the loop at the halfway point which brought you back to the feeding station

Was he the guy just after the big slippy muddy decent, There was someone in the trees with a big lens and a flash gun in hand!!! I did see one guy with a Chuffin huge massively wide rear tire which looked like it had come off a motorbike!!!!!! I bet that was fun to pedal round all day!!!!!

It was an extra loop just before the final descent that went up the climb after the first descent to where the chearleaders were before dropping back down to the first short descent to the top of the final descent.

On Saturday afternoon I didnt think I would have a bike as Litespeed were inable to fix my new headset so they decided to give me their demo Trek Fuel EX 9 apart from the seat numbing my arse I was very happy with the bike. Thanks Litesped! I am pretty knackered after that epic and not sure if I would ever do anything like that again, somehow after reading these threads and feeling sore but jubilant I even finished the Enduro , I am stating to come around to the idea of doing it again. . I had a few offs and I was getting very annoyed after each desent as I new we were going to be punished my yet another mega climb, but heyho its amazing what a good nights sleep does to help you forget the pain. ;D Thanks for the pics Rob I thought you missed me ! Well done to all! ;D
