The Annual Firefighters race is set to take place at Coed Llandegla on Sunday the 18th October 2009. Supported By One Planet Adventure, Alf Jones Cycles Wrexham, and TilHill forestry. The race is open to all, not just fire fighters, and takes place within the forest confines, many parts which most will have not have ridden before. Guest cat's are 16-18 19-29 30-39 40-49 and Ladies 18+. 3/4 laps of 4/6 miles and 2/3 laps for ladies +vets. Entry fee( non refundable) is only £8 for Fire service Staff and £10 for general public (£13 and £15 after 8th October) fee includes soup and a roll ! All profits go to the FireFighters Charity. Registration opens at 10.30 race starts 12.15 prompt. Full medical coverage is to be supplied by North Wales Mountain Rescue. For those not familiar with the event, it's a really friendly atmosphere, with many people having there first go at a real 'race'. It's an exciting and challenging course with plenty of technical sections, but nothing to be scared of!! Between 5 and 6 miles. We are still tweeking it in places to get the best out of it. I will attempt to get a better figure when we have completed it. Cheers.

I think it says somewhere that you can enter on the day. I'm guessing you turn up at registration time?

I thought I read somewhere that you could have a practice run on Saturday afternoon sometime, but I can't see that anywhere. Did I imagine it?

Stu rode in this race last year- . it was a bit odd though as the parts of the course that were on the trail were still open to the public so there were kids and all sorts of riders leaping to the side to get out of the way of the racers
