Excellent race today chaps, well done everyone, we did MBNW proud. Bit pist off about the mess up with the trail and timing, im just wondering how they are going to judge it now. If its as they said and they use the final lap timing of everyone that missed the timing station first time round then this is totally unfair. The only real fair way of doing it is buy using everyone who entered last lap but this isnt exactly great either. Hey ho, guess we will see but why wasnt the bit of tape stopping us going all the way down pins and needles there in the first place Apart from that the organisation was superb and every one was super friendly Apart from the obvious schlong up I thought the event was great, just the right ammount of climbing with some great teachnical sections, much more intresting than the boring meridas. Ill defo be back for more next year, great first event of the season. Looking forward to the results

I'm sorting the photo's out now, it might take a while, hopefully will be on the site later tonight. I tried not to get too many pics of people slogging up hills, although with the confusion on the first lap I missed quite a few riders!

Well first of all I'll give you my word of the day- GRUELING! ;D As Oggy said fair play to all for getting to the finish today with no major issues, that was one tough race with lots more climbing than last year. Good strong showing by nwill in his first race also although he wasn't sure whether he'd enjoyed it at the end. ;D Balls up with track marking meant we all ended up doing a shorter first lap with many then missing the final bit of singletrack that took you down to lap scoring. I think it was only those of us who'd done the race before that knew the proper route for the first lap. I didn't feel too good today, really struggled on the third lap and felt really weak. Gutted really because the first lap felt almost effortless. A good result for Oggy coming in second out of all us MBNW folk closely followed by Pete "the legs" Thistle who'd had a drivetrain hiccup again. Overall impression of the event was that it was very well organised but they just could've done with the course being marked a little more clearly for the first lap. Matt Pritch (Revolution Bangor) showed me who was boss today as well, really impressed with his riding in the techy stuff on his 29er hardtail and where I faded towards the end of the 2nd lap he just kept going and dropped me. ;D Bugger! I came in at bang on 2hrs 30mins with Oggy 15-20mins later on, a big improvement for him over the winter. Well done you big lycra clad queer, I knew that road bike would sort you out. Garmin data-

Hey Dan were you riding with the Rhos lot because they flew past me going into Llanberis whilst I was on the Snowdon Charity Bike Ride, they were going at one hell of a lick.

I think nwill came in before me didn't he? My drivetrain hiccup and repair seriously impressed the marshall at the top of R74. I don't think he'd seen powerlinks before Are the times going up on the event website when they are sorted out? The marshall I spoke to said for anyone who missed the start line on the first lap they would average out the 2nd and 3rd lap times to give the first la, but that might not be the official way they do it and there might be some clever maths they use to make it fairer. I'm glad me and monster went back up the road to cross the line after lap 1 ;D Hannah (pom poms) is putting the photos up on the facebook group as soon as she gets around to it.
