That was bloody hard today folks, a real battle just to get around so a big congratulations to everyone that finished (all of us I think ). I had a decent first half to the race with four of us working together in 3rd/4th/5th/6th and shifting at a good pace before the inevitable blow-up. Yep I'd done it again, pushed too hard from the off and hit a big low half way into the race, from there it was just a battle to finish and trying to salvage the best position possible from my tired/cramping legs (I really need to learn how to pace myself). Thanks to Matt from Revo's for helping me get back up to speed by giving me a wheel to sit on and some words of encouragement, top bloke! So I eventually crossed the line in 18th place with a time of 3hrs 14mins which I'm pretty pleased with considering the size of the wall I hit. ;D A good turnout by MBNW as well, good to see. The elevation profile (not for those of nervous disposition)-

GPS'd it all so I can work out where all those descents were and try linking some of them into an extended CliMachX route. That steep one with the drop to either side was absolutely cracking. More to post up once I've had a beer or two.

That was truly horrible, although it is starting to feel better now! The course was much harder than i expected as the downhills were so steep we just seemed to spend all day riding uphill Well pleased with my race though, apart from 2 punctures everythin went well and really happy (and suprised) with my position! Congrats to Dan on such a good postion! And to all the other guys aswell who finished it! Welsh Champs next year instead though i think ;D ;D

Fair play Dave, that is one serious result, well done buddy Think I came in around 80th with Rob a couple of mins infront of me and Will and Justin not to far behind, looking forward to the final result being published. Lots of MBNW lads in the top 100. Thanks to Redkite, Ema and all the others for coming along to support us and get pictures of them unhappy faces slogging up those brutal climbs

That was hell! Those climbs were killer and felt never ending but the descents were some of the scariest stuff I've ever done . The World Cup descent Russ mentioned was real shorts filling stuff but such a blast to know I had got down it without a foot down or a stop ;D. Had moment at the bottom there to regain composure . There was a chap riding a Jones bike with a massive front tyre (about 4 inches - one of these www.jonesbikes.com/) who needed a bit of help so me and Russ stopped and sorted him out with various tools as his riding buddy, who had all the tools, had buggered off and left him! The result was we were at the back of the field before we'd even got to the forrest . Got round in a little over 4:40 so very pleased with that . No idea what position I came in at though. Got a cracking helmet head contender from Russ, but haven't downloaded it from my phone yet. Will put it up later. Thanks again to Russ for doing the driving !

Well done everyone some cracking times achieved there and Rob did my 333 number proud & on a downhill bike someone give him an XC bike for next year ;D. Sounds like the route was tougher than last year, was the course dry & was there the section with thick mud again.

Wow do my legs hurt today!
That was my first endurance event and easily the hardest ride I have ever done!
Some of the descents were great, steep and quite tough in the mud that hundreds (and hundreds) of riders before me had churned up. Managed to have three real comedy falls, all with soft landings though.
As for where I placed I'm not sure really, I finished just behind Russ in about 5 hours 15 minutes I think, really for me though, being my first endurance event it was about making it round not the time.
Good to see a few of you again, sorry I couldn't stop.

Well that was Physical and Mental torture, every down was punished by a long slog up and in the end it was just a case of getting to the end but managed a 5hr 10m i think, better that what i aimed for. I think some of them signs were wrong though, that 5km to the feed station was the longest 5km ever!!! Cheers to Chris, Sandra (rather drunk) Mark and Craig and his missus for the company at last nights post ride party Raggee has never been so good ;D And great to see the others to.

Some of it was dry while other places were like a mud bath especially towards the end.
