well done everyone for doing that event, its bloody hard (well i think so anyway) i had a great start and found a nice pace i was happy with until i got to the feed station and from then onward i just had cramp but cant be helped... anyway got to the split at 169th and i was amazed and was happy with that, but had a look behind me and there was around 20 riders on my tail there was nothing left in my little legs to do anything about it... ;D but i think i got half of them back on the last downhill, i was shocked to see how many riders couldn't ride technical sections looking forward next year nice pics there redkite, ema has some to follow.

My first ever event, and what an absolute eye opener and lung buster.Loved it all from start to finish and the middle was just pain and more pain.Got through the check point at 170 which i was totally shocked with, but couldn't hold the chasers off and about 50 passed me so i stopped for a Go Bar and cracked on.Terrific event.Well done everybody, it was one tough mother. Couldn't believe the amount of riders that could not ride downhill but then smash the climbs.

See Rob's army training came in handy when he was challenged to a plastic ball fight (out of the kid's ball pit) against two youngsters....who definitely had a better aim than Rob..... ;D Cracking weekend, with plenty of laughs and great company (what i can remember of it anyway ) Well done to everyone who took part....and apologies to anyone i didn't get a photo of...especially davewxm who i only recognised after he rode past me. Same time next year then ;D

Looking at the GPS track now, I make it 52.2km from the Start in Mach to the forest finish, 62.7km in total back to Mach. I will be very interested in my final position as not far from the start when we turned off into the lanes at the bottom of the first hill Davy and I stopped to help a guy on a Jones (complete with front fat tyre) so when we started off again we were right at the back of everyone in the event, so it will be interesting to see how many people we passed along the route, for me mostly doing the passing on the downhills as there was lots of mincing on the go either at the start of them where lots of people wanted to stop and faff about pre-downhill or on the sections themselves where there was lots of mincing going on even to the point where there were people taking any line to avoid muddy puddles (WTF) It was quite fun with Craig, he'd pass me on a climb (benefits of youth and less weight) only for him to pass me again, again & again on the next climbs as I'd somehow pass him on the downhills without either of us noticing each other. First time Dyfi Enduro for me and first time I've done an MTB Enduro since the mid 90's so I'm quite happy with a 5:15 ish time as my focus was on completing it and feeling like I could do the same again on three consecutive days, have I mentioned I'm doing www.flattyresmtbroutes.com/ABigRideForLittleLives.html today at all? Thanks to Davy for the company in the car and the no doubt awful helmet hair photo and thanks to everyone else who attended to make it a great day out. Off to consult the GPS track now to suss out all the singletrack sections Ye I have to say it was really fun to ride with you if not a little spooky how on nearly every climb I could see you in the distance in front of me! I still can't work out how it happened as the only time I was passed on a downhill section was when a rider in front of me had an over the bars incident and I had to stop to avoid him and on the last descent where I came off and my leg cramped up so I had to stop for 5 minutes to stretch. I did stop quite a few times to run into the bushes for a pee or to have something to eat but it still doesn't explain how neither of us saw each other, freaky ;D

Cracking days riding which as always was well organised. Good to have a chat with Tarbo on the way 'round aswell as meet new faces from the forum. Shame the Gorilla in the woods was not seen this year handing out bananas though!

The pictures can now be found here: www.rightplacerighttime.co.ukI've realised that I pull a really funny face when I'm concentrating downhill, like I'm trying to catch flies with my mouth ;D There's five pictures of me, one I will probably buy but they seem a bit steep? £7.45 each for high resolution, £4.45 each for regular.

Craig - I've had some photos before from Jon. The normal resolution ones are pretty decent and will look okay when scaled up to fit on A4. The hi-res ones are good if you want to make it up to A3 or a bigger poster size.

Compared to the Whinlatter ones they are pretty cheap especially the regular ones, 3 of them nearly equal 1 from Whinlatter

Wow that was tough! Dam good fun though I can say it now. I almost made the cut off for the extra look I was about 20 inside the number but I decided to stop and have good stretch as I knew I was going to cramp up good and proper if I didn't . The climbs just seemed to go on for ever but the downs were fun lots of buttock clenching at times. I managed to ride nearly all of it without having to walk any bits. I managed not to have any falls or punctures until the ride back after the finish to the start! First I had an spd moment doing a track stand waiting to cross the road on the cycle path by the river just outside Mach then I had a flat just before I got to the petrol station!

I suppose its not really all that expensive for a profesional quality picture, just me being tight ;D
