I have a 4 year old lad and I am just teaching him to ride his Fire Man Sam bike. He has now decided he wants a bike like daddy. He is small for his age and wants gears. Any ideas guys. Is there any small one,s with disc brakes and gears?

How soon would a 4 year old grow out of an expensive bike though?

True, it doesn't take long to out-grow their bikes but it's worth spending a little bit more.
The Toys R Us, Halfords, etc, £50 specials are a piece of shoite and they weigh a tonne.
I don't think the £100 we spent on the Spesh was excessive, he certainly gets his money's worth out of it.

We bought it from the Specialized Concept Store in Chester (i work just around the corner).
They do keep some of the smaller bikes in stock but not one of every model / size.
I can pop in while i'm on my dinner tomorrow if you want me to make some enquiries for you, let me know mate.

Do West End Cycles keep them in stock?
I'm probably after one for my 7year old daughter later this year, when we were in Spain this year, we hired a mtb for my daughter, that bas a BH bike, a spanish make i think but it seemed quite decent with an alloy frame, and about 5 gears.

Id go with the west end cycles option if they can get them in, keep it local and at least you only have to go down the road should anything go wrong with it.
Try one on in the spesh concept store first if your down that way. I popped into the concept store a few times and not been too impressed with the place. Try the bike factory next door too, they stock Spesh.
