These are hard to get hold of, Ordered one today will take 2 weeks to come in. Got mine from here taffy - ordered last wednesday and it arrived on sat. They have them in stock (the Maxx2 - 2009 model) www.shinybikes.com/bikes/use-exposure-joystick-maxx-2-2009.htmlThanks for that I will give them ring. If they can get one quicker I will cancel the one I ordered. Just been out with it locally tonight on the bars and its very impressive. revolution in bangor could get them next day as well. Just that its a 2hr there and back drive for me so the postage option was better for me.

I'm going to fork out on a decent set of lights so i can hopefully join a few night rides and also use my bike all year round for commuting. I know a lot of you guys have bought lights recently and wanted to hear your recommendations and feedback, both negative and positive. Any advice would be great. Cheers

Cheers I use joysick on the lid and a nite rider mi newt on the bars, does me great. Have to say the joysticks are the mutts. you could get away with just a joystick on ya lid I know a lot of people do. The Ay Up light set got a very good write up in one of the mags, sure they gave them 10/10 look like very good value for a full set up. Suppose it all depend on how much you wana spend, you got a ball park figure? If you wana borrow mine for the night to try them out just give me a shout.

Thanks Oggy, much appreciated mate. I like the look of the joysticks. I will probably have around £200-£250 to spend and am unsure if its better to get one expensive set on the bars or lid or getting a cheaper one for each?

Go for the Hope 4's dyl - you can mount them onto your helmet for the trails and the handlebars for commuting. Should be able to pick up a set for £250 - plenty enough light for you.

Diolch Gar, might just do that! Do you find the joystick's enough light for technical trails and for bombing down the quarry etc?
I like the Hope 4's very much but wonder if it would be better to go for those alone or the Hope 2's on the handlebars and something else on the lid?

Dylan,
Check out Ay-ups (http://www.ayuplights.co.uk/content/view/19/71/) for £249 it might sound a lot but you get a fair amount of kit and are highly rated to, im looking into it as if i get the Exposure Maxx lighrs plus either a bar or helmet light it wont be far off that price at the end.

Cheers for the link Rob. It does seem pretty impressive kit and considering the write-ups they receive it's a decent price tag too.
At the moment, it looks like I'm gonna go with the Exposure Joystick as a few of the guys here swear by em, and don't even feel they need additional bar lights whilst using them. They also get rave reviews everywhere. If I buy a joystick and feel it's adequate then i'll have only spent £145 which is great. If i feel i need some extra lights though, i can upgrade at a later stage, ie: after payday, and get some Hope Vision 2's on the bars. Thats what i'm thinking at the mo anyhoo, need to research more on whats out there before laying any serious dosh out
