It's that time of year again ! The Fire-fighters race in aid of the Fire-Fighters charity, open to all, held at Llandegla Forest with the kind help of One Planet and TILHILL. It's also the Emergency Services National race to decided the National champ, entries are coming in thick and fast from as far away as Scotland! So be quick, entry form attached. Same drill as usual, cats are on the form as are prices etc. Look forward to seeing you there? And if anybody is free for a spot of marshaling, i would be very grateful, thanks. Rich. Attachments:

I did spot that, however A- i don't want local riders to miss out on a place and with it being the national champs it will fill up quick with coppers and fire-fighters from all over the country coming to race,
B- i need marshals to help us run the event, without them i stuffed!
But thank you for pointing it out!

That was ace. Bad points: - some tw*t from the grey team coming flying down some tight singletrack on Lap 1 telling everyone to get out of his way (then everyone he passed overtook him on the climbs and he wasn't seen again....) There's always one though....
- not being able to keep our number boards as souvenirs.
Good points: - Plenty of signage
- Good course - was muddy and slippy in places but not excessively so and some of the rooty sections were great (especially the little twist and drop ;D)
- Sadistic climb almost to the top of the forest for the finish line
- Marshalling was
good spot on
- Spectators were great - It's really boring shouting 'well done keep going' at every rider as they go past but it's really appreciated.
- Punk was even there ringing his cow bell...
- Weather was - lovely and sunny
Don't know what time I got but it can't have been too bad as my breakfast came back up part way around the first lap Looking forward to next year.

Yeah good course and weather helped. Different guy I think but I had someone shouting out the way on the first singletrack descent then passed him on the slightest incline! Also had some guy bitching as a rider infront of me stopped dead and I had to do the same "f*** out the way" He had shaved legs and all the kit but I tore past him at the bottom of the small climb to the finish. Very satisfying!
First time I have done it and apart from adhereing to Punks advice to warm up properly (third lap lot faster than first) really enjoyed it and loking forward to next year.

Yeah got all my stuff from Mark. Would've helped if they told us when we finished if we'd won something. I wasn't hanging around for over an hour in the cold for the prizegiving, some of us had ridden part way up

Well done to all MBNW members who took part.
Went up to Llandegla for a spin with the lad and got overtaken by a few tired looking racers.

:)that was a great first race for me. I even bullied another lady up a hill. When I finished she thanked me as she wouldn't had got up. I think a could have been a alot richer as I kept swearing at myself and some riders..... To my daughter and Simon well done for marshalling. Ooops Karl and Mark aswell... Will I do it again? Yes really enjoyed the day and the surpport

Well done to all those that raced today. Did a lap of the Red,then watched for a short time. Saw all the people I knew going through, they all had a smile(sort of) on their faces. Took a few pics,a bit crap though(not my camera, otherwise, they would have been worse still.) Some tasty singletrack amongst the trees. Here comes Nicky and Dave. There goes Nicky and Dave. Sharon coming through, with a cheery smile. Spud,he won the over 50's for the last two years,I think. Dave at the end of his first lap. Sharon was too quick for me. Got ya this time. Don't know what happened to Nicky, didn't see her at the end of her first lap.
