I've gone for the Marin and MBR. Only ridden them both once each, but i enjoyed them
I ride Llandegla the most, but i can see why its not as good as either of my votes

penmachno because it feels more away from everywhere, and its got some properly fun singletrack sections, and its hard work. Cli-machx beacause its short and fun, and its got that last downhill. Although last time i was there the trail was falling in on itself

Pont Scethin because it's a bit of a wilderness ride with stunning views. Add in the hardest climb I've ever done followed by a great grassy DH and it's definitely my favorite official trail. ;D

Seeing as I can't other trail twice I'll list them here.
Legal
1. Snowdon Rangers/Bwlch Maesgwm (Best technical Mountain Descent in Britain IMO)
2. Llanarmon DC/Lawnt/Berwyn/Llandrillo/Wayfarer (Just an awesome chilled out wilderness ride in the summer. The descents from Berwyn down to Llandrillo is 550m of singletrack heaven when it's dry)
Cheeky
1. Pink Beasty @ CyB (Just pips the Dyfi Forest due to a little more variety oto the descents and Dolfrwynog Cafe turning up just when you need it).
2. Cadair Idris from the ChliMachx carpark via Abergynolwyn (Big Mountain riding, high ridge traverses and cracking singletrack forest descents. This ride has everything).
Sort of turned into my top 4 but they still all fall under the 'other' category..
I like Pont Scethin but find it a little short for the amount of driving involved so usually do it from Dollgellau something similar to Colin's Flattyres route but adding the cheekyness to up the offroad percentage.

The 'best' man made around here has to be the Marin. As I've rode it too many times to remember, it can give you a good idea on how your fitness levels are, by comparing it to previous rides. And the 'best' route locally for me has to be the Carnedd Uchaf loop starting from Sycnant Pass. With over 6000ft of climbing, 30 miles and a max height of 3022ft it really gives you that sense of being in the great outdoors

Yeah, its a good one to do. But with some footpaths involved its not one for a large group And to enjoy it at its best the weather has to be spot on as it blows a bit up there;D

Or some basic directions and the best place to park would be great, thanks summittoppler! Its great to be hearing of all these rides which arn't part of the usual destinations.
