Another pound down this week which puts me six pounds down in three weeks....bang on target so far I've been adding a little extra to the dogs evening walk and on thursday I managed the twenty mile commute to and from work on the bike. Just got to stay motivated to get through the half a stone barrier on my next weigh-in!!

Damn it!!! Still a pound short of half a stone, which puts me two pounds behind my two pounds a week target On the plus side....I managed to get into a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in months (and the last time I did wear them I sat down too quickly and sent the button flying across the room!!) I knocked five minutes off my best time for riding to work. And finally, I managed to light up the 30mph warning sign on the way through hawarden

Unfortunately there's a little cloud on the horizon that is my mate's 40th this weekend involving a night away with some serious beer monsters....and my will is weak

Nicely done Iggy. Jolly boys outings are basically a get out of jail free card.....any after effects are entirely acceptable

I have started doing some jogging in an attempt to use some muscles other than those for peddling! Only 35-40mins ish, once a week and a nice easy pace or it does my knees in. If anyone want's to join me you're welcome. I run around Pen and Dwygyfylchi, usually in the day but happy to do the eve if I have some company.

:)Be careful with the knees when running; best to run on softer surfaces. I have run your area many times as a fell runner and now have knackered knees so I can't even walk the hills easily now so biking is the only painlIess exercise I can do

Yes, I have had knee problems and I just do short runs and only once a week. I have invested in very good running shoes and try to avoid running down hill too much (walk some bits where I know it will be hard on knees). Fell running is a bit too hardcore for me, especially with the massive ups and downs here! Have thought about driving to other places to find some grassy surfaces. There are a few exercise you can do to help strengthen the knees and supporting muscles. I do these as I do a lot of mountain walking too and find I get pain on the downs. Walking with poles really helps me.

I have been doing a bit of running as well and found that my vibram soled walking shoes are much better than my proper running trainers, I tore a muscle runing a few years ago and it took months to heal and if I do too much now it warns me very quickly!!

I've slipped up and I'am standing in the naughty boy corner! ... the half a stone I'd lost has mysteriously turned into a 5lb gain back on especially annoying due to the fact that I've put regular quality miles in this last fortnight. Mind you, I'm not helping things today with the post weekend hangover munchies....nom nom nom ;D

Mind you, I'm not helping things today with the post weekend hangover munchies....nom nom nom ;D I'm led to believe that almost everyone will hit a stage where the amount of fat being lost is equalled or surpassed by the amount of muscle being built....thus a situation where a loss of bulk but a gain in weight is entirely plausable.......HONEST GUV!!!
