Good effort there Iggy, especially for an old fart like yourself The Marin is pretty slick when it is wet. Me, Karl and Dave did it a while back in 1:43-could've gone a bit faster but Dave was holding us up! Don't think I could knock that much off the time though.

After being totally dry for most of the week I thought today would be a good day for a willy wave of the Marin on the hardtail, they don't call me the Rainman for nothing! It was lashing down in Gwydyr so peering over my Mr Magoo glasses I still give it decent go although losing a front wheel in the 1st 100 metres was an ominous start and had a couple of 'offs' due to operator error ..... My time is from the start of the trail to the end of the trail (no carpark) on GPS & stopwatch as the MBNW segment still hasn't been edited and the end of it is at the far end of the carpark! Marin: 27/6/13 1:32:20 ... on an old fangled 30lb shitey British Iron steed 26er Chwarae teg Bysedd, Damn good time there!

Well I thought after a few rides to break it in, it was time to see what the Animal was capable of when pushed a bit. The conditions were perfect for waving, dry trails and not too hot. Marin 1:32:22 [from the Strava segment Marin No carpark] I've not done a proper solo wave for a couple of years, but that's knocked 10 minutes of my previous PB. I'm not sure I'm all that much fitter than I was then, so I'm putting most of the difference down to the "cheating" wagon wheels. Anyone who's still nay-saying the 29er thing, have a go on one, it's the future, never mind this marketing hype 650B malarky [gets down off soap box] Iggy, you're lucky that I ran into a row of 8 dribblers pushing their bikes along the Dragon's tail and not thinking that they might move out of the way of someone actually riding it, 2 seconds... 2 seconds. I think I might have scared them a bit... oops. Can we have an update to the wave list at the start of the thread please admins, it's a bit out of date

You'll have to have a go on my 30lb steel HT next time so I can be convinced by the animal Oh BTW, the 2 seconds can be gained by having a curry & some Guiness the night before

Probably doesn't count, because of the diversion that's been in for ages that also misses out JJs, but
