Well, after sleeping in and missing the forum dribble I decided to have a bit of a spin around the Marin. Flat chat from start to finish in some pretty grim conditions for a time of 1hr, 15mins and 5secs. Reckon there's 5mins to come off on my own bike or maybe 10mins off if I sort my life out and get a race bike. Going to be a good season... connect.garmin.com/activity/145692291that is truly impressive 191 hr

Went up to Llandegla this morning to drop my knackered forks off and took the old Rocky Mountain with me although I didn't fancy it much as it was minus 2 in the carpark! So as it was so cold and I was all alone (trails empty) just to keep warm I did a bit of a wave on the Red route, there was a small diversion around the double steep climb that actually extends the length a bit and the trails were like concrete and icy patches.

That looks like a pretty fast time Iggy, especially if it has all the new bits of red instead of the old finish?

Aye, lower back was shot up that switchback climb and the last bit up to the reservoir... found out when I got home that I had my saddle half inch lower than the Yeti so I hope it was just that causing the pain. Trails were lightning quick though as it was frozen solid but 90% dry frozen like concrete

Due to a cancelled request for my bike mechanic skills this morning, I found myself sitting on the sofa at 9:30am with no plan for a ride. I decided to use the opportunity to set an early 2012 wave time for the Marin to give myself something to beat later in the year. The first climbs seemed much harder than usual for some reason, so I thought I'd be more than 2 hours easily. I was quite chuffed to get to the end with a 1:46:05 and without stopping at all :-) Quite a few people out on the trail, but the wave gods were smiling on me and I seemed to manage to overtake almost all of them on the fire road sections rather than getting held up on the singletrack. Here is the gps track to prove I did it all, but it seems to have gained a couple of minutes between viewing on the screen, and uploading for some reason. My other bike computer confirms the time above though sportypal.com/Workouts/Details/1931197?key=f00fefb03b5124bb373b6666e2125b839ff8866a&ms=1P.S. Sorry I missed you Aled, but I was too late getting organised this morning.

Well done Rupert, very respectable time considering the temp outside.

Have the 36.5 pound Meta 6 back together know so will have a blast at a sub 2 hour Marin for a laugh

Wanted to get a quick one in this morning , so I could be back for the rugby I thought the Brenig/Alwen Loop (14 miles approx.) would do the trick. Route: www.walkingnorthwales.co.uk/pdfs/AlwenTrail_27.pdfNote:- At the north end of the Brenig, cyclists are required to keep to the road as the single track across Gors Maen Llwyd is out-of-bounds . Starting Point: www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=295580&Y=353015&A=Y&Z=120Direction: Anti-Clockwise Start Time: 11:24...Finish Time: 13.12. Time taken for Loop: 1 hour 48 mins.Didn't give it 100% today...just wanted to get myself a Mark . Well done Wales...Just the Big One left ;D.
